Favorite TV Dramas

After providing my favorite Comedies, I obviously have to share my Top-10 favorite TV Dramas.

10. Hill Street Blues — The original gritty crime drama.  Definitely the best drama in the 80s.

9. The Sopranos — Edgy show that broke ground on basing a show on an anti-hero.

8. Twin Peaks — Quirky and fascinating intricate mystery.

7. Lost — Despite some folks who thought this show was just made up as it went along, if you pay attention, it's clear that the end was in sight from the beginning.

6. Battlestar Galactica (2004) — Lots of great twists, sci-fi, and acting.

5. Firefly — Took the notion that Star Wars was nothing more than a western set in space and made it literal.  A pity that there are only 14 episodes.  Fox never gave it the chance it deserved.

4. The West Wing — Aaron Sorkin at his finest.  Snappy dialogue and interesting story lines.

3. House, M.D. — Even better when you realize that it's really Sherlock Holmes.

1b. Better Call Saul — The spinoff prequel to #1.  It may just surpass its predecessor with its 6th and final season.

1a. Breaking Bad — Simply the best-written drama series in TV history.  Every character is spot on.  Walter White is a bad, bad man.

Honorable Mentions:  Dexter, Justified, Friday Night Lights
